A woman shared video of a paragliding mishap that happened during takeoff and left her a "little scared" that she was "going to die"

She said the moment occurred while the instructor was adjusting her camera, which led to them flying through tree branches and running along a roof before escaping to clear skies

Despite the scare, she says she would try paragliding again

What was meant to be an unforgettable memory quickly turned into a nerve-wracking moment for one woman as she embarked on a paragliding adventure.

In a video shared via ViralHog, the rider, only identified as @who.lavanya, can be seen preparing to launch with her instructor when things suddenly go wrong.

According to her, the mishap happened just as they were getting ready to lift off. The pair appeared to fall to the ground on an initial attempt to take to the sky. After they were airborne, she and her instructor had to run along a roof and were pummeled by tree branches before finally breaking free.

“Was going to experience the best thing in my life but ended up getting little scared as we were going to die,” she said in a statement accompanying the clip.

She explained that the instructor had been adjusting her camera when the unexpected issue occurred.

In the footage, the pair appear to lose control. The sudden shift interrupts what should have been a smooth takeoff, creating a tense few seconds that feel far longer than they are. Despite the scare, she remains notably composed.

Rather than panicking, she keeps her voice steady as the instructor takes over. The situation resolves quickly, and they make it to the sky.

While paragliding is widely practiced with trained professionals and safety protocols in place, takeoff is one of the most critical phases of the activity. Strong wind shifts, timing issues or momentary missteps can create unexpected instability.

Fortunately, in this case, the mishap did not result in injury. Reflecting on the experience, she focused on gratitude. “But I'm glad that we survived and would love to do it again someday,” she said.
