Introduced as a chess player from Philly, Shahade made a solid name for himself on the Alex Trebek stage, winning against favored "Jeopardy!" contestant Ding and going on to defend his title and add more winnings to his pot.

On Instagram, Shahade prepared for his first game against Ding, writing "No matter the outcome, it's an honor to be part of the long history of Jeopardy and to face such a great champion."

After winning his first game, Shahade thanked viewers for their support and spoke highly again of Ding, writing "Congrats to Jamie Ding on a historic run and for being such a great human."
