Ike Barinholtz has connected Donald Trump to an explosive diarrhea outbreak on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. While stepping in for Kimmel, the guest host branded the situation “Trump diarrhea.” Barinholtz, known for his work on The Mindy Project and The Afterparty, leaned into political humor that’s become a staple of the show.

Ike Barinholtz says Donald Trump is to blame for explosive Diarrhea outbreak

Ike Barinholtz returned to host Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a third straight night on Wednesday, July 15, with another round of barbed jokes. During his opening monologue, Barinholtz addressed the nationwide Cyclosporiasis outbreak in the U.S. Cyclosporiasis is a parasitic intestinal illness that can cause severe diarrhea and has been linked to fresh produce such as lettuce and fruit.

“We’ve been following this story very closely here at Jimmy Kimmel Live all week, and the outbreak of explosive diarrhea sweeping the nation has now spread to 34 states including right here in California,” noted the 49-year-old.

The Blockers actor called the outbreak “hard to contain.” He pointed to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s decision last year during the Trump administration to stop tracking the parasite responsible for severe diarrhea. Taco Bell is also under investigation in connection with a possible case of the parasite, per The Mirror.

Barinholtz said that he “wanted to give the president the credit he deserves,” so he rebranded the parasite “Trump diarrhea.” The comedian has been guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! while the 58-year-old host is on vacation. Despite the original anchor’s absence, Barinholtz has continued to match the energy of the show. He, like Kimmel, has directed comedic commentary at Trump and his allies.

On Tuesday, July 14, the Running Point star joked about Darline Graham Nordone. She is Lindsey Graham’s sister and was appointed as his temporary Senate replacement following his death.

Jimmy Kimmel Live regularly features guest hosts and topical jokes about politics, pop culture, and viral news. That said, the show did not present the segment as a factual report, and no evidence was offered linking Donald Trump to the outbreak.
