See Sheinelle Jones Greet ‘Today’ Fans at 30 Rockefeller Center

Sheinelle Jones greeted fans both outside and inside 30 Rockefeller Center on Monday, July 20.

The Today host filled in for Craig Melvin, who is currently on a summer break, during the show’s Monday episode. After sitting alongside Savannah Guthrie at the anchor desk, Jones joined Jenna Bush Hager on that morning’s episode of Today With Jenna & Sheinelle.

Instead of heading home after the show, Jones stuck around 30 Rock for a special “Meet the Author” meet-and-greet event in celebration of her first-ever book, Through Mom’s Eyes.

“Nice people make my heart happy,” Jones captioned an Instagram video of herself greeting fans and signing copies of her book. “If you’re ever in NYC, you’re invited to stop by @experiencenbcstudios (The Shop at NBC in 30 Rock) and pick up a signed copy of Through Mom’s Eyes. Gift it to yourself or to a friend!”

In the clip, Jones smiled for photos with several fans, from families to fellow members of her Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, and more. Jones even took a moment to chat with a fan over FaceTime.

“Always happy to support you Soror!” one fan commented underneath the post. Another added, “OBSESSED WITH SHEINELLE!!” Someone else shared, “That’s so awesome! I ordered your book and love it! Next time we get back to NYC I hope you could sign it for me!”

A different person posted, “Oh how I wish I was there to get one. I’ve been huge fan of sheinelle’s since 2008. Love love her. She holds a special@place in my heart.” A separate commenter gushed, “I love your book. I’ve gifted it to a friend too. It is a delight to watch you everyday. I love your laugh, playfulness, honesty (especially when Jenna says or suggests something that you know you will never do) and your openness and honesty about your grief journey. And your kids are absolutely beautiful.”

Jones’ debut book features conversations with the mothers of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lady Gaga, and Stephen Curry. The book was supposed to hit bookstores last year but was delayed in the wake of her husband Uche Ojeh‘s death. Ojeh died at the age of 45 in May 2025 following a private battle with brain cancer.

Jones returned to Today in September 2025. Shortly before she began her role as Bush Hager’s fourth hour of Today co-host in January, Jones mourned the death of her grandmother Josephine Vonceal Pace Brown, who died at the age of 96.

Through Mom’s Eyes was officially released on April 14. In addition to celebrating the book’s release during that day’s episode of Jenna & Sheinelle, Bush Hager surprised Jones with a special appearance from Jones and Ojeh’s three kids: Kayin, Clara, and Uche.

“So Kayin, what do you want to tell your mom on this day? I know this is a big one for her,” Bush Hager asked Jones’ eldest son, who replied, “Words can’t even describe it. I’m so happy for you, Mom. You’ve worked on this since quarantine, you know, we’ve had the ups and downs. I mean, I remember when you lost your computer. It broke, even. … We’ve obviously gone through so much, you know. It’s just, like, I’m so happy for you.”
