Pawn Stars host warns Trump coin 'is not real gold' as he shares its true value

Pawn Stars host Rick Harrison appeared on Newsmax's "Wake Up America Weekend" to discuss a new Trump keepsake.
Harrison, 61, was called on to explain the value of the new "Trump coin," which is a piece of gold-colored $1 coin with President Trump's likeness on it. While Trump has advertised the coins as "gold," Harrison clarified that the coins are actually "gold-tone" and not genuine gold. Newsmax host Andrew Craft was surprised as Harrison explained that the Trump coin is "88% copper."
The two discussed the value of the coin as a collectible item. The conversation between the two men follows Newsmax viewers ripping into Republican Ken Paxton.

Craft, 34, asked if the Trump coins would "sell like gangbusters," prompting Harrison to explain that the "largest coin dealer in the world for collectible coins is the US mint."
"I think this will be highly collectible," continued Harrison. He addressed the controversy of depicting a living person on a coin, pointing to a coin from the 150th anniversary of the US featuring former President Calvin Coolidge.

"I think it'll sell like hot cakes. You know, fifty percent of the population will like it, fifty percent will not," added Harrison. He explained the history of the world's most valuable coin, known as the "eagle coin," which is worth an impressive $30 million.
Craft continued to probe, asking, "What about the Trump coin? I mean, 95, 96 years from now, could you see the Trump gold coin appreciating in value over time? Like the eagle?" Harrison explained that most collectors will send off the coin to be graded, hoping for the perfect grade of 70.

"It's one of those things where you don't just have coin collectors buying it, you're going to have Trump fans buying it too, which I think is really going to push the price up," said Harrison.
Harrison also explained the history of "great" design on the coin, which features an eagle holding an olive branch in one hand and arrows in the other.
"The eagle is looking at the olive branch, and not at the arrows, which means try to do peace before you go to war," added the Pawn Stars host.

Craft emphasized the connection between the Trump coin and the "America 250" celebration of the United States' 250th anniversary.
"It's just another cool token as we continue celebrating America 250. I know the 4th of July is over, but this is really an all-year celebration," added the Newsmax host.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described the coin as celebrating "the strength of American values, and the promise of a nation dedicated to preserving freedom for all." The Trump coins are intended to "honor the enduring legacy of liberty and a lasting symbol of patriotism," he added.
