Celebrity bodyguard Mason Haynes has died.

Haynes died in a motorcycle accident on July 4, according to a GoFundMe organized for his family. He was 52.

“Two days before what would have been his 53rd birthday, Mason’s life was taken far too soon in a tragic road traffic accident,” read the fundraising page. “He leaves behind his devoted wife Fay, his daughter Brooke, his son Noah, a loving family, and an extraordinary circle of friends spread across the world.”

Haynes was described as a “protector,” “mentor” and “a giant in every sense of the word, with an even bigger heart,” per the GoFundMe.

The fundraiser was created to help Haynes’ wife and two children and ensure he “gets the send-off he truly deserves - a celebration of a life that touched so many people.” The funds will also “help ease some of the immediate financial pressures that inevitably follows such a sudden and devastating loss.”

His employer, Trojan Security UK, paid tribute to him in a July 6 Instagram post, sharing a photo of Haynes working with Kris Jenner.

“We would like to pay homage to an absolute legend in the Close Protection game. Big Mason. Gone too soon,” the company wrote. “Rest easy and fly high Brother 🕊️.”

In 2018, Haynes spoke with London Now about his career and revealed that, along with the Kardashian family, he had worked as a bodyguard for Kevin Hart, Charlie Puth, Lewis Hamilton and Nicki Minaj.

After deciding to go back to school in his 20s, Haynes said he “needed a part-time job to support my education,” which is how he got involved in security.

“I then found a full-time job in Scorpion Security, who were the security company hired by Café De Paris in London, among others. Because there were a number of celebrity patrons, I started doing what you might call ‘close protection’, which became permanent contracts with several celebrities.”

The Kardashians were his first clients, he said, as he named Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner as clients, as well as Kanye West.

He was working for the family at the time of Kim’s 2016 Paris robbery. “I can’t go into much detail about that,” he told the outlet. “I was part of that team, and that incident was simply a set of unfortunate circumstances which led to something bad happening.”
