Before answering, Hudson appeared aware that her response might draw attention. “This is gonna go bad… and it might be a headline, and it’s fine,” she said, sharing that she finds it off-putting when men “really lead with their spirituality,” particularly in a way that feels forced or performative.

The “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” star elaborated that this kind of behavior can feel like a warning sign. “It just immediately — a red flag… like something’s off,” she added, suggesting that it raises questions about authenticity. Cohen appeared to agree with her take, even jokingly clarifying the type of behavior she meant, before reassuring her that he did not find her opinion controversial.

Off-screen, Hudson’s own relationship offers a different perspective on what works for her. She has been in a long-term partnership with musician Danny Fujikawa, with whom she shares a daughter. The couple got engaged in 2021 after several years together and have been open about their supportive dynamic and shared family life.

“I’ve got the best man,” she said about Fujikawa in a 2019 interview with Women’s Health. “It’s the first time I feel like I have a real teammate in this. We’re able to pick up where the other one has to leave off.”
