- Jodie Sweetin said she and Candace Cameron Bure still have a friendship despite divergent political views.
- She shared on the *McBride Rewind* podcast that she's 'not going to change anything' about her beliefs.
- Sweetin noted that she will always respect Bure.
Jodie Sweetin is well aware that she and her* Full House* costar Cameron Candace Bure don't see eye-to-eye on many things, but she's still going to maintain their friendship.
Sweetin, 44, appeared on the April 21 episode of the *McBride Rewind* podcast and spoke about being proud of her political beliefs and stances in life. She has been open about her support of diversity and inclusion initiatives, the LGBTQIA+ community, reproductive rights, and climate change, among other causes. On the opposite hand, Bure, 50, is a conservative Christian who has been outspoken about how her faith grounds her viewpoints, which include "traditional marriage" and being a pro-life advocate.
"[People often] pit me and Candace against each other, and the thing is, at the end of the day, her name has never come out of my mouth," Sweetin said on *McBride Rewind*. “This is just who I am and what I believe, and if that isn’t something we share, cool. I’m not going to change anything. I can still have a relationship with her where I can hug her when I see her. I love her. I don't want bad things to happen to her. I will respect her, and her ability to do whatever."
"But I’m a loud bitch that just disagrees with a lot of things," she added, "and that’s who I am. That’s totally OK."
Sweetin and Bure played sisters Stephanie and DJ Tanner on *Full House *from 1987 to 1995 and later reprised their roles on Netflix’s *Fuller House* from 2016 to 2020. Sweetin even admitted that she would "joke" and "poke at" Bure's beliefs on the latter show's set: "I don't hate [her], we just don't see eye-to-eye on a lot of things that I find important and that's OK."

Sweetin stressed, "I don’t think we hang out in too many of the same places [and] we do pretty different things and that’s OK. She does her, I do me and that’s just who we have always been."
To sum up the conversation with host Josh McBride, Sweetin concluded, "I’m going to go out in the streets and [say], ‘F--- ICE’ and watch that Bad Bunny show and get out of my chair and be dancing and loving it. It was great, and that’s just the choices that I made."

For her part, Bure has been honest about disagreeing with those closest to her and how she handles differing opinions.
"My best friend has different political beliefs and is a different religion than me. My *best* friend," she said on her podcast last year. "I said, 'This is a safe place.' I said, 'I can still be friends with you and like you and have this.' It's not about debating. I can have the conversation."
She added, "I would love to share my opinion with you... because I want you to see a different perspective and I want you to see Jesus in it, but even if you don't agree with it in this moment, it's just to get you thinking. And, I still love you! And I still hope you love me."
Bure is now an actor and executive producer for the Great American Family channel, which focuses on faith and family-based storytelling. When one of Sweetin's movies, *Craft Me a Romance*, was sold to the network in 2023, she spoke out about how the sale affected her personally.

"Sometimes, we, as actors, don't have control over which network buys the projects we are in, nor are we a part of the process in which they get sold," the actress told PEOPLE at the time. "So I was very surprised to learn by reading about it in the press yesterday that the independent film I worked on over a year ago was sold to Great American Family."
Sweetin continued, "I am disappointed, but in keeping with my mission of supporting the LGBTQ+ family, any potential or future money made from this sale will be donated to LGBTQ+ organizations."
