Subtle, it was not. The line was an unmistakable nod to the fact that his ex, Taylor Swift, married Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce inside that very arena on July 3, complete with a married-couple pun flashed across the venue’s own digital marquee.

Styles and Swift’s romance was brief, spanning November 2012 to January 2013, but its pop-cultural half-life has outlasted most marriages, widely believed to have inspired her 2014 hit “Style.”

Styles has always played it cool about being cast as a tabloid muse, once crediting his famous muse-maker directly: “using Taylor as an example, she’s a great songwriter,” he said back in 2020.

He reportedly scored an invite to the Swift-Kelce nuptials but couldn’t make it happen, with sources noting he was “currently on tour and will not make it to MSG.” His fiancée, Zoë Kravitz, went without him.

Kelce, for his part, is still riding the high months later. “Wedding was the best night of my life,” he told reporters at Chiefs training camp this month.
