No one is safe while Nikki Glaser holds a microphone.

During her opening monologue at the 2026 Golden Globes, the comedian took aim at stars big and small, young and old, nominated and not nominated. But some of her most brutal one-liners came at the expense of the cast of Paul Thomas Anderson's celebrated *One Battle After Another*.

"Leonardo DiCaprio is here for one man bun after another!" she joked from the stage at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. "How good was Leo in *One Battle*? I mean it's insane, it's so good," she continued, as the camera cut to the 51-year-old star smiling nervously in the audience.

"What a career you've had. Countless iconic performances, worked with every great director, won three Golden Globes, an Oscar," Glaser cocked, before firing: "And the most impressive thing is you were able to accomplish all that before your girlfriend turned 30."

The audience reacted to Glaser's joke with a mixture of raucous laughter and shocked guffaws. Glaser herself appeared somewhat cowed by her own brazenness — which turned out to be the setup for another bit.

"Leo, I'm sorry I made that joke, it's cheap! I mean, I tried not to, we just don't know anything else about you, man. There's nothing else! Like, open up!" she joked, getting a rare, genuine laugh out of DiCaprio. "I'm serious. I looked, I searched. I mean, the most in-depth interview you've given was in *Teen Beat* magazine in 1991. Is your favorite food still 'Pasta, pasta, and more pasta?'"

DiCaprio nodded his head with a surprised smile on his face, seeming to indicate that Glaser was indeed quoting a real answer he gave to a 30-year-old interview question.

DiCaprio is currently dating the 27-year-old model Vittoria Ceretti. The actor has, over the years, garnered some amount of infamy for his seeming predilection for women under 30. In fact, before Ceretti, DiCaprio had gotten out of four previous relationships after each partner turned 25.**

But Glaser didn't stop her *One Battle After Another *roast with DiCaprio.

After praising the performance of rising star Chase Infiniti, who plays the daughter of the characters played by DiCaprio and Best Supporting Actress winner Teyana Taylor, Glaser turned her attention to Sean Penn.

"Sean Penn is also here — Colonel Lockjaw himself," she said, citing Penn's character's name. "The best, one of my favorite characters of all time. I love you, Sean, you're such an original. Everyone in this town is obsessed with looking younger. Meanwhile, Sean is like, 'What if I slowly morph into a sexy leather handbag?' And I mean, that's hot!"

Penn was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his performance in *One Battle After Another*, but lost to Stellan Skarsgård in *Sentimental Value*.
