Two and a half months after storming out of an interview with Kristen Welker and saying she was either ācrookedā or āstupid,ā President Donald Trump is once again denigrating the Meet the Press moderator.
āKristen Welker, the Unpopular āHostessā of the once great Meet the Press, now considered Meet the Fake Press, just stated that Donald Trump has āmixed resultsā on his Endorsements of Candidates, when the recent WINS of Darline Graham and Mike Mazzei, stand at 100% for the U.S. Senate, and 98% for the U.S. House, recently and over the longterm,ā Trump wrote on Truth Social on Sunday. (Capitalization and emphasis are his.) āHow can anyone be allowed to say this, working for freely given Public Airwaves?ā
As Brian Stelter, chief media analyst at CNN, pointed out on X, Welker said Trump had āmixed resultsā in his endorsement results not on Meet the Press but instead on a pre-broadcast live shot on WRC-TV, NBCās local station in Washington D.C.
In this Truth Social post, Trump shared a graphic showing he has a 98-percent success rate with his U.S. House endorsements and a 100-percent success rate with his U.S. Senate endorsements in the 2026 Republican primaries.
USA Today reports the same percentages but included a statistic that Trump didnāt: Only 79 percent of his gubernatorial endorsements this year won their primaries. NBC News also reported that the presidentās endorsement record had taken a hit in August, when six candidates he endorsed lost their House and gubernatorial primaries.

And even though Stelter asserts the Federal Communications Commission has no legal right to punish Welker, Trump suggested on Truth Social she could face consequences from the FCC.
āBecause of this purposeful inaccuracy, she will be reported to the FCC for rebuke or punishment,ā he wrote. āUnfortunately, she is not the only one. The Radical Left News is going out of their way to harass, demean, and libel anything āTRUMP.āā
He went on: āThe Press is a Disgrace to our Nation, and I hope that Chairman Brendan Carr, and the fine people of his Commission, will take this Threat to our Country very seriously. Thank you for your attention to this very important matter of Fake Polls and Commentary! President DONALD J. TRUMP.ā
