According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Kansas City Chiefs are set to waive rookie defensive back Zelmar Vedder after their preseason finale against the Seattle Seahawks.
Vedder signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent earlier this year and competed for a spot in Kansas City's newly rebuilt secondary during training camp and the preseason.
A former Houston Cougar, Vedder will now be subject to the NFL's waiver system as he seeks a new opportunity to earn a roster spot before the regular season kicks off in September.

With Vedder officially out of the equation, Kansas City's defense is finally starting to take shape after a successful three-game preseason slate in which several first-year Chiefs vied for playing time under veteran coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
