Billie Lourd celebrated her late mother Carrie Fisher’s 70th birthday on Wednesday.

Fisher died after suffering a heart attack in 2016. She was 60.

Lourd admitted that she still holds some anger and sadness toward her mother, but said she was “so beyond happy” Fisher existed.

Billie Lourd is honoring her late mother, Carrie Fisher, on what would have been her 70th birthday.

The American Horror Story actress posted a heartwrenching tribute to Fisher, who died in 2016 at the age of 60.

“Today would have been my Momby’s 70th birthday,” Lourd wrote on her Instagram on Wednesday, alongside an old photo of Fisher blowing out birthday candles. Lourd can be seen grinning in the background. “Which feels way too young an age to be dead for almost 10 years. She should have been alive for at least 10 more years - not dead for 10.”

Lourd, 34, detailed the final birthday she celebrated with the Star Wars actress, noting that she wished she “would’ve known it was her last.” Lourd also explained the complicated feelings that come with commemorating the birthday of someone who has passed.

“Birthdays are harder than grief anniversaries for me because it’s a day that’s supposed to be a happy day,” she said. “And it’s hard to feel the happy in happy birthday when the person whose birthday it is isn’t there to celebrate. So I didn’t wake up happy today. I woke up feeling really angry that she wasn’t able to get sober so she could be here with us to receive the happy in happy birthday. This is my 10th birthday having to celebrate her without her and that feeling is unfortunately always present.”

Beyond suffering a heart attack, Fisher had cocaine, methadone, ethanol, and opiates in her system at the time of her passing, per Entertainment Weekly’s sister publication, PEOPLE, although it was unclear if they contributed to her cause of death. The coroner also noted that Fisher suffered from sleep apnea, atherosclerotic heart disease, and drug use.

Although Lourd admitted that she felt angry and sad over her mother’s death, she also shared happy memories about Fisher.

“Being with my momby when she was at her best felt like home,” Lourd continued. “A warm hug you never want to pull away from. What I imagine it feels like to be in a mother kangaroo’s pouch. I miss that cozy sensation of what being with her felt like every single day and it breaks my heart that [my] children can’t experience it. But I have created my own version of it for them.”

Lourd shares son Kingston, 6, and daughter, Jackson, 3, with husband Austen Rydell. She previously noted how her kids have been “getting to know” their grandmother through the Star Wars films.

The Scream Queens alum concluded her birthday message with loving remarks toward her mother, and those whose loved ones are struggling with addiction.

“I’m so beyond happy she existed,” Lourd said. “Happy 70th Momby. I love you forever. Thinking about anyone else who has lost someone they loved to drug addiction or anyone who has lost someone they had a multifaceted relationship with. May you allow all of the emotional guests to attend the emotional party - anger, sadness, frustration, joy, numbness, warmth, (insert emotion here). You are not alone.”
